Well, I was wondering if there is any good free ipod converters to convert my videos to mp4 so I can put them on my ipod video 5.5Gen. I want to have it not loose quality so i can hook my ipod up to my tv and watch the movie as if it was a DVD.

as ipod accepts mp4 format, you just need a converter that will go from dvd to ipod mp4 and then transfer the output mp4 videos to your ipod with the sync of itunes library. I prefer using clone2go dvd to ipod converter as it combines three main features into one program:
1. rip dvd to ipod
2. convert video to ipod
3. download youtube videos to ipod

Changing formats …
By the way, Aiseesoft might be good, but it is not free and is with limitations.
What format is it that you want to convert. I can give you an .avi to .mp4 but if that is not the correct starting format I cannot determine whether the link would be suitable.

DVD movies have copyright protections. To get dvd movie to ipod, you need to use dvd ripper to bypass the copyright protection and convert dvd to ipod mp4 format

because converting video to other formats would compress the video and iPod itself has some limitations on resolution, bitrates etc so it certainly will lose some quality.
